In the Scholarship & Grants Committee of The Operating Room Global (TORG), the following voluntary designations and roles exist:
Scholarship & Grants Director: This individual will lead the scholarship team, oversee the overall program, and ensure that scholarship activities align with TORG’s mission and objectives. They will coordinate team meetings, manage timelines, and serve as the main point of contact for external stakeholders.
Selection Coordinators/Member Role: These individuals will review and evaluate scholarship applications, considering the eligibility criteria and other established guidelines. They should have expertise in the field of operating room technology and healthcare, ensuring fair and informed selection decisions.
Outreach and Marketing Coordinator: Responsible for promoting the scholarship program, increasing awareness among potential applicants, and engaging with educational institutions and relevant organizations to attract candidates.
Application and Evaluation Coordinator: Manages the scholarship application process, including designing and maintaining the online application system, tracking submissions, and collaborating with the Selection Committee for evaluation and scoring.
Financial Officer: Handles the financial aspects of the scholarship program, managing the scholarship fund, tracking budget allocations, and disbursing funds to selected recipients.
Communications Liaison: Maintains effective communication with scholarship applicants, recipients, and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries and facilitating communication between the team and recipients.
Secretary: This role manages administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, taking minutes, maintaining records, handling correspondence, and providing general administrative support to the scholarship team.
By fulfilling their individual roles and working collaboratively, the Outreach Committee of TORG strives to create meaningful partnerships, engage communities, and raise awareness about the importance of surgical care globally.
