Introducing Lt Col (Dr.) Olufemi Simeon Olatunji

Ladies and gentlemen,

We are honored to introduce Lt Col (Dr.) Olufemi S. Olatunji as our distinguished speaker for this webinar. Lt Col Olatunji brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from both military and civilian healthcare systems. He is the Chief Nurse Executive of the 514th Aeromedical Staging Squadron at the 514th Air Mobility Wing, United States Air Force, McGuire Air Force Base, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ.

Lt Col Olatunji’s impressive career includes a primary Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) of 46N3 with a Special Experience Identifier (SEI) as an International Health Specialist and Board Certification as a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse. Additionally, he holds a secondary AFSC of 46P3 as a Mental Health Nurse and DAFSC 46A3 as an administrator.

Lt Col Olatunji received his direct commission as a healthcare provider in the USAF Reserve Nurse Corps after completing his officer indoctrination training at Maxwell Air Force Base in February 2012. His extensive educational background includes a Doctor of Business Administration from Columbia Southern University, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Management from Liberty University, a Master’s in Public Health from American Public University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University, and an Associate of Science in Nursing from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria.

He has also completed significant military education programs, including the United States Air Force Leadership Today and Tomorrow, Air War College, Air Command and Staff College, and Squadron Officer School.

Throughout his career, Lt Col Olatunji has held various key positions and made significant contributions in roles such as Officer in Charge (OIC) of INTRO/Newcomers, Chief of Academics for the Wing Medical Skills’ Training Lab, Self-Inspection Program Monitor, Flight Chief of Commander Support Staff, and OIC of Awards and Decorations. His deployment as Lead Clinical Nurse during Operation Freedom Sentinel in Afghanistan further showcases his leadership and dedication.

Lt Col Olatunji’s exemplary service has been recognized with numerous awards and decorations, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Air Force Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and Afghanistan Campaign Medal. He has been promoted through the ranks, achieving his current rank of Lieutenant Colonel in December 2022.

With over 30 years of clinical experience, Lt Col Olatunji is not only a combat veteran but also a Legal Nurse Consultant and Public Health Practitioner. He is dedicated to enhancing patient safety and quality care through his vast expertise and leadership in both military and civilian healthcare settings.
